I feel wonderful this summer. It is about our front yard producing watermelons better than last year. I did not know what kind of they are but I guess they are Rattlesnake watermelon based on the information from internet. That watermelons have green light skin with beautifully darker stripes resembled of a Rattlesnake. They grown oval, large and long until 2 ft long and weight about 30lb. Watermelons are 93% of water so we watering them twice a day to keep them growing well.

The roots started from flower bed and spreading the leaves on the grass.
So far it's been growing good and healthy. There are more than 5 watermelons and we already harvested and ate 2 of them.

Pears are relative of the apple. They are sweet, juicy, tender and have fresh scents when they are ripe. They are great for snacks and can be prepared in salad, desserts like pear cobbler and good for canning. There are several types of pear: Anjou, Bartlett, Bosc and Comice. We have one Bartlett pear tree in the yard. The fruit grows productively in this summer and some of them  dropped on the ground when they are fully ripe. The bugs, birds, deers and squirrel like pears so much. I picked some of the pears before they get really ripe and let them ripe at home. If you let them ripe on the tree, the bugs will get in them first.

And me with the pear tree.

What are good about pears? Pears have several health benefits. They are a good source of natural fiber, offer high potassium and contains vitamin C.

What a strange day? Yesterday was a very beautiful day, bright and sunny until in the evening. Some people spent their time at the beach for surfing and picnic. They knew the hurricane will be coming on the next day but they took that chances to enjoy every last minute. We keep watching the weather channel for the hurricane updates and warnings.

This time "Hurricane Earl" is coming, and today is the day. A hurricane is an intense, rotating oceanic weather system that possesses maximum sustained winds exceeding 119 km/hr (74 mph). It forms and intensifies over tropical oceanic regions. At the ocean’s surface, the air spirals inward in a counterclockwise direction.
We can see how it form from the satellite image

We live close to the Atlantic Beach and that was the reason why we were so concern. Hurricane Earl will hit Bogue Inlet, NC which we are located. It started breezy this morning, cloudy and the wind is blowing about 10mph. Forecast map shows how the track path of hurricane Earl

We will be waiting the possibility might be happened when it's approaching to our place.  Heavy rain, strong wind and electric cut off were had happened last year but this year might be the same thing. We pray that everything would be safe and will be clear tomorrow.
