I have been waiting the sale of this fruit. I got it the other day at the store. The price of raspberry drop to $2 from $3.99/package. Can't wait to eat with vanilla ice cream after break fasting.
Ramadan month is really challenging me. Have a super weekend!!

Fresh cherries are big hit in the summer. They are ridiculously expensive which the price can go up as high as $5.99/lb or $4.99/lb. But we got so lucky to get $1.99/lb when we stopped by at Harriss Teeter the other day.

We bought it almost nearly 2.5 lb. The dark red color make them look so delicious.
They are so juicy, sweet, fleshy and flavourful and 10 times better than grapes. ( Huh 10x? Did I exaggerate too much?!!). Store them in the bowl and some for snack
It looks like a miniature plum.
You can serve it with vanilla ice cream. Yum Yum

This is the place that we went the other day..
Have a great day ahead!!

Picking your own berries in your own yard is fun and exciting. I love berries so much and love to eat them. There are berry bushes growing wildly in our backyard and along the fence of the field. I haven’t noticed it until Babe stopped there while I was walking with him and he ate them one by one crazily. My dog eating berries? Was it safe to eat? I picked a few of them up and I didn’t eat it straight away. Obviously I never see wild berries before and I was pretty cautious about wild fruit. I think it should be ok if the dog eats it so I waited. I got to see his condition after 24 hours. It made me relieved that he was surely fine on the next day.
Seeing them in red and black colour had me curious thought and confused whether they were raspberries or blackberries. I was kind of ignorant about the "wild" berries so I looked over the internet to find out about them. They are blackberries, some say black raspberries since they are smaller than the locally grown one. After few days most of the berries in the bushes turned into dark purple and shiny deep black. Those showing the wild blackberries ripened enough to harvest.

I decided to pick them up in the late afternoon. The bushes are thorny and widespread all over the place so I have to wear gloves and boots to avoid that thorn prick on my skin.
I just picked half of the bucket. Those blackberries absolutely smell fresh and nice  in the bucket.
A handful of wild blackberries.
The blackberries smell made me remember how adore I was with Black Raspberry Vanilla body lotion from Bath&BodyWork that I bought a year ago.

Most of the blackberries are still growing and will be ready in few days. So I leave them for another fun day to pick. They really looked delicious in the picture below.

I stored the fresh-picked blackberries in the container and put them in the fridge so that they will stay fresh. It taste really sweet and I already have plan with them. So see next time in other post.

Have a good weekend!:)

Strawberry season just started a month ago (April). It is one of the first spring's fruit to ripen. Definitely strawberry can be found at the store all year round but the price in it's season is cheaper than usual. There is one strawberry farm near to our house. I can reach to the farm around 10-12 minutes with a bicycle and pick on my own berries. It was pleasure to pick your favourite one but I was so damn lazy to hop on the bicycle and ride it there.

We just stopped by at the Walmart store when we were at the town and got 2 lb of strawberries. Those berries were huge and really sweet.
Some of the berries almost reach the size of an apple.
Since the strawberries have been in our refrigerator for a week, I enjoyed them like those below

Fresh morning with honey bunch cereal breakfast
Maybe some Strawberry Shortcake
Or
Eating them raw with splash of cool whip cream
How about chocolate covered strawberry? Yummy...

Or indulgence myself with this dessert

Oh don't forget to make strawberry smoothies...

Have a great weekend!!

I love all kind of berries. Strawberry, blackberry, raspberry and never forgotten blueberry. The color, the taste and the smell of the freshness of that fruits really making me so tempting to buy them at the store. The standard price of them excluded strawberry are $3.99 for 1 pint or 1 container. The actual price is quite expensive and the store will offer $2.50 in special day or time on sale. I often buy blueberry when they are on sale and it took me a few days to eat 1 pint of blueberry. Usually they became the menu for my breakfast. Here they are:

1) Blueberries oatmeal - Quaker oat + milk + Heat in microwave + blueberry =

2) Buttermilk Biscuit with blueberry on top. Baked them in the microwave and eat them with maple syrup. The biscuit are warm, crispy on the outside and soft inside and the blueberry will melt in your mouth.

3) Blueberry pancake with maple syrup.

It just simple breakfast but it tasty, smells good, fills me up and made my day!!
