I have been struggling about my emotional feeling towards Babe these days. We are so connected and being apart from him seriously making me cry when I am thinking about him.

Recently I watched a Japanese movie title "all about my dog". That movie was a compilation of several short films which content funny, sad and happy stories really made me remember about Babe. Though he is just a dog, we completely treat him like a family. He greeted me everytime I came back home, we walked, we played, we went out and doing things together for years, all those things are very hard to forget. Even though Robert and I are doing our matters here, we definitely miss him very bad. This video below I’ve just made genuinely for him. Hopefully he is being good, healthy and we will see each other again. That’s all my prayer.

Have a good week y'all

Babe, our dog is almost 8 years old by now. If he was a human, Babe would be 55 years old which is based on dog age calculator. Pretty old huh! Robert owns him since he was a puppy and I met him when he was 3 years old, young, naughty and aggressive. Babe is like a part of family member. This interesting creature brings companionship and joy to us.

Babe loves riding in the car or truck ...

I learned a lot about dog since I have been in the US. I observed all dogs have owners around here. No stray dogs. I observed sometimes people treat their dogs better than human like putting clothes on, shoes or over-groomed and some people will try talk to me when I have Babe with me in public. Some say "Hi,you have a pretty dog!" or "Does he bite?" or "Can I touch him" or "What kind of dog it is?" That's really annoying me when they just attracted to your dog, being nice with you just want to see the dog and don't care who really you are. That's weird.
I guess same thing with baby too, People will talk to you about your baby "He/she is so cute!" or "She is so adorable!"or "You have a pretty baby". The fact is "All babies are cute or pretty right?" Is there any ugly baby out there?

Babe loves chasing go kart.
Babe loves running with bicycle
Maybe you've heard about dogs have been known as man's best friend. But not every dog is friendly by nature. They need training. No bad dogs, it just uneducated owners who humanizing them or mistreating them. Owning a dog requires commitment. Seriously I am educating myself about the dog when I live with him. I devote some of my time for daily walks to release his mental and physical energy. I feel I have some kind of human-animal bonded relationship after these years.

Babe loves snow. He loves cold temperature.
Babe loves food. Fruits, bread, cake, ice cream ... you name it and he is not a picky eater.

In dog world, dogs are pack animal that have an instinct to live with order and rules. They have a leader among them. Human become their pack when they live with human. That's the reason a dog follow what your command if human behave as a leader. In fact the dogs can sense human emotions such as fear, sad or happy, angry or upset

He knows me if I feel upset or sad but he won't know the reason. Dog's love is unconditional, once a dog decided to be your friend, he/she will be your friend forever. No matter if you are poor, sick or ugly.

A dog is an amazing creature. Besides regular exercise, proper diet and medical check up, a dog need toys. A bored dog will find a way to entertain itself. It may be chewing shoes, socks or furniture. Giving the toys to a dog will
  • Avoid boredom
  • Help to stay busy
  • Make them exercise and healthy
  • Let them relax and happy
The toys can be something to chew on like hard rubber bone or something to catch and grab such as frisbee, rope, tennis balls and stuffed animal. Babe's most favourite is rubber bone and he also plays a stuffed leopard toy. Snuggling, shaking it with his mouth and carrying around are part of Babe's behaviour on his stuffed animal.

Eventually he loves destroying the toy just like the children tearing apart of toys. He chews the rubber bone into pieces and he ripped off of that leopard's ears to pieces. But dogs aren't same as children. Dogs will be the dogs. The dogs generally have predatory instinct. They will chase, catch and kill cats, rabbits and anything that moves unless they are trained to get around with those animals while they were puppies. I could relate that Babe practicing his killing instinct by grabbing and biting the neck of stuffed leopard when he is playing with it.

The toys sometimes becomes his best friend when he fall asleep.

Have a good day!

12 February 2011

The internet broke down at home and freezing to death temperature turning my mood into a melancholy feeling since last week. That feeling also reminded me about Sir Walter Wally had made his correct prediction about 6 more weeks of winter. Apparently we got raining for many days and snow flurry which was only lasted few hours yesterday. It's been freezing since then.

The package which I ordered from Amazon surprisingly arrived today and it  cheered me up a little. Maybe it was because a gigantic toy for babe. I love to see him getting new stuff. It was like giving a new toy to a kid. Human got occupied with  a lot of different activities to keep them busy in life but animal  also needs something to get him a hectic life. The package was 8 inches long red Nylabone rubber toy. It made from durable nylon and synthetic thermoplastic. The knuckle bone that I gave him three weeks ago was still ok and I guess it would last another more weeks.

I knew he would surprise and excited about a new toy, so I put both knuckle bone and nylabone together to make it more exciting. See the video below. Which one will he choose??

Babe has strong teeth and jaws. Chewing it for hours and breaking it into pieces making his feeling extremely satisfaction. We were thinking that we should give him curfew by changing with the other stuff  alternately to teach him that he should not focus only one toy.

Below his "chew fest" picture

I think my baby also was in the same page with the dog when he was making fun of it.

The network technicians  from century link came today and they have been hardly working since in the morning to fix the internet even it was raining and cold. The line has been on and off intermittently for several days and obviously we did not know actually the problem was after we checked the wire around the house.  And thankful it's working now and appreciate with their good job.

"Happy Freezing Day"

Babe is really happy about his new treat today. He goes nuts when he's getting it, chewing it all day long and hide it somewhere after he got tired. The purpose of that bone is to keep him busy, eliminating him from boredom and relieving his stress. It also promoting healthy teeth, strong jaws and reducing bad breath.

I got him a knuckle beef smoked bone as his new treat when I went to get some chocolate candy bars in Walgreen store. That bone came with big round size, heavy and smokey taste. Only 3 bucks! It looks ugly but Babe really in love with it. Babe not only chews it but he eats it. I hope it would last for days. I captured the moment of him with the bone.

Last week I bought a blue color of solid rubber toy from Amazon but he tore it up and broke into pieces within a few minutes. That item stated that it long lasting and durability but it was really unexpected. I took his pictures on the first day he got it but it was gone after two days.

11 August 2010

It has been years Babe chewing the green rubber toy from Pet Smart. That one was 10 inches long has been lasting for 2 years. He chewed it into pieces, swallowed it and threw it up in the next morning. That green rubber finally became 2 inches long now or maybe less. It made me to find a new toy for Babe.  Babe has powerful jaws and he is an aggressive chewer. He loves to chew anything which fell off to the floor. He chewed pen, paint brush, shoes, rubber flip flop and one crazy time he chewed Robert's Motorola cellphone. The camera of the phone was broke. After a couple days surveying, we decided to buy this toy called Kong Extreme. It is a strong black rubber and can be stuffed with the treat inside it.
He was so excited when he got his new toy in the beginning. After a while he kind of ignore it. We guess he did not like that rubber smell. Hmmm..it smell like a tire. We wash it for a few times to get rid of the smell but it didn't work. Here some pictures of him chewing his toy.

I love to see his ears folding down when he was chewing that thing. I think it was so cute.

He was mad when he knew that I was taking his pictures. I think what's bothering him was my camera flash. Grrr....

He got back to work when I turned my camera off. Keep busy babe! Working out your teeth.
