Picking your own berries in your own yard is fun and exciting. I love berries so much and love to eat them. There are berry bushes growing wildly in our backyard and along the fence of the field. I haven’t noticed it until Babe stopped there while I was walking with him and he ate them one by one crazily. My dog eating berries? Was it safe to eat? I picked a few of them up and I didn’t eat it straight away. Obviously I never see wild berries before and I was pretty cautious about wild fruit. I think it should be ok if the dog eats it so I waited. I got to see his condition after 24 hours. It made me relieved that he was surely fine on the next day.
Seeing them in red and black colour had me curious thought and confused whether they were raspberries or blackberries. I was kind of ignorant about the "wild" berries so I looked over the internet to find out about them. They are blackberries, some say black raspberries since they are smaller than the locally grown one. After few days most of the berries in the bushes turned into dark purple and shiny deep black. Those showing the wild blackberries ripened enough to harvest.

I decided to pick them up in the late afternoon. The bushes are thorny and widespread all over the place so I have to wear gloves and boots to avoid that thorn prick on my skin.
I just picked half of the bucket. Those blackberries absolutely smell fresh and nice  in the bucket.
A handful of wild blackberries.
The blackberries smell made me remember how adore I was with Black Raspberry Vanilla body lotion from Bath&BodyWork that I bought a year ago.

Most of the blackberries are still growing and will be ready in few days. So I leave them for another fun day to pick. They really looked delicious in the picture below.

I stored the fresh-picked blackberries in the container and put them in the fridge so that they will stay fresh. It taste really sweet and I already have plan with them. So see next time in other post.

Have a good weekend!:)
